Window washing, regardless of residential or commercial buildings, can be a daunting task. However, when using the right products and correct technique, a clean window can give you a better look at life. Many homeowners think using a wadded-up bunch of paper towels and a window cleaner spray is the route to go, this of course will turn people away from cleaning their windows. When using paper towels and elbow grease you are only moving and grinding the dirt into the glass and not leaving the window clean and ultimately even worse than when you started. You can have a professionally cleaned look to your windows with a simple squeegee and readily available cleaning products.

To start, you will need a squeegee blade and sponge combo, dishwashing liquid, a chamois, a dry rag, a non-lint forming towel and a bucket of warm water. A helpful hint, the less suds the better. Apply the sponge portion to your bucket of warm soapy water and apply the mixture to the window, letting it set for a moment but not too long, where the soap will start to dry on the window. You will now use the blade side and starting at the top of the window making a backwards S motion pull the soap from the window, between each S formation, clean the blade with the lint free cloth. To remove any excess water, try using a damp, well-wrung chamois, which will soak up wetness without leaving streaks, then finish the windowsills with a dry cloth.

This process can be used inside and outside of any window, home or office. The daunting task of window cleaning will not be looming over your head with these simple steps. Try it and see that everything looks better when looking through a clean window.
